A thread that leads home.
Karsaniko embroidery, and the things a family carries forward.

Heritage, kept in everyday life
Some of the most personal things in a house are also the quietest: a curtain moving in the air, a tablecloth unfolded, a piece of handwork that has found its way through generations. At vàrniko Archontikò, the Karsaniko curtains and tablecloths are family inheritance, passed down from the great-grandmother to the present generation and preserved unchanged.
A Lefkadian craft
Karsaniko embroidery comes from Karya, in the mountains of Lefkada. The Greek Ministry of Culture describes a fine, precise needlework tradition created by Maria Stavraka and developed by the women of the village. It is made with a sewing needle and silk or cotton thread.
Part of the house’s identity
For us, these textiles are a connection with the people who lived here before. The house’s visual identity takes its cue from that connection: natural tones, restraint and a sense of things made with care. To stay here is to come a little closer to that continuity.
