A house shaped by time
vàrniko Archontikò: A traditional Lefkadian home in Lygia
Family memory, Lefkadian character.
And the sea, just beyond the door.

Rooted here.
Ready for your story.
vàrniko Archontikò is a traditional Lefkadian home in Lygia, in the neighbourhood known as Paradisos. It brings the character of a family house into a new chapter of hospitality.
In Greek, archontikò describes a distinguished traditional family home. “Manor house” is a close English rendering of its spirit: a house with character, presence and a story carried through generations.
At the entrance to the garden, a persimmon tree planted in 1892 still marks the way home. It is a living connection with the generations before us, and with the roots reflected in the house’s identity.

The small things that stay
Memory, in the details.
A familiar face. A piece of handwork. An object kept close.
The story of a home is also held in its everyday things.

Faces & familiar voices
Framed portraits and a wooden wall telephone give a quiet corner its character.

Made, mended, remembered
An old sewing machine, its cover and a wooden trunk that accompanied our great-grandfather on his voyage to America stand beside a delicate piece of needlework.

Light, framed by colour
Decorative plates surround an arched window, where a fine curtain softens the daylight.
