Kept through generations

Family heritage.

Roots, textiles and family memory.

The persimmon tree at the entrance

Rooted since 1892.

At the entrance to the house, the persimmon tree planted in 1892 in the family orchard remains a living point of reference. Its story belongs to the history of the family and this place.

Its roots, trunk and shade give a tangible meaning to the house’s rooted family identity. As the house begins a new chapter of hospitality, the tree remains a connection with the generations before us.

Passed from hand to hand

Two display cases.
Two family stories.

At home, beside the fireplace

Woven, worn.
Kept close.

Beside the fireplace, a handmade wedding dress and a traditional outfit from Karya carry the family’s connection with Lefkadian weaving and embroidery.

The left display case

The wedding dress and the magazine cover.

The left display case holds a handmade wedding dress. Its fabric was woven on a loom in 1970, bringing the craft of weaving into a personal family story.

The dress appeared on the cover of the magazine of the Nikos and Takis fashion house. A photograph of that cover accompanies the dress in the display case, keeping the garment and its publication together.

The right display case

The segouni and the embroidered chemise.

The right display case holds the great-grandmother’s woollen segouni, a traditional sleeveless outer garment from Karya, Lefkada. It dates from the late 1940s to the early 1950s.

The great-grandmother’s embroidered chemise worn beneath it is older: it dates from 1923. Together, the two pieces preserve details of Lefkadian dress and different moments in the family’s memory.

From one generation to the next

A thread that continues.

The garments are part of a wider family inheritance. Original curtains and tablecloths, passed down from the great-grandmother and preserved unchanged, still belong to the everyday life of the house.
